Getting Next Blog link off Blogger Navigation Bar

This the easy way, but please note you lose the entire Navigation bar. The Nav bar is more than just the Next blog link.  It also has the search engine, but you can add another easily (just add a gadget). Plus it has the link back to the Blogger dashboard, and the Sign in and Sign out in the right corner.

Select Layout from the left menu on the dashboard and click on Edit in the "Navbar" gadget.

In the pop-up window scroll down towards the bottom and select Off.
And Save!

Or you can follow the directions in the video to remove the Nav bar.

Here is the text that you need to copy and paste into the HTML:

#navbar-iframe {
visibility: hidden;
display: none;
}

Thanks to Dave Lepisto for making the video.

You may also want to take a look at The Real Blogger Status for more ways to hide the Next blog link.

Blogging Your Family History

Before you start blogging there are a couple of things you need to do:

(1) Have a Google Account https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/27441?hl=en
(2) Preferably have the Chrome browser installed on your computer or laptop. Or your
Android or Apple tablet or phone.  You can use another browser, but in my opinion Chrome works best with Blogger.

You should also think of a name for your blog.

Which family stories do you want to share - current events and photos, your own story, or information about your ancestors? The choice is yours. Once you start, the blog may take on a life of it's own and change. That's OK! You may discover that you can help other people by sharing your knowledge. That's even better. And you just might make a connection that knocks down your brickwall and that will be absolutely grand!

All you have to do is start.

To help you do that, here are the slides from the workshop.
